Ladies Golf

The ladies section has endured and grown throughout the years due to the enthusiastic attitude of all the members and the invaluable dedication of a series of successful Lady Captains and their hardworking committees. They have honoured the ideals and traditions first introduced by those who started the section years ago and so laid the foundation for a rich future for ladies golf at Benoni Country Club.

The Ladies Golf section plays on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The section encompasses players at all levels, from the Ladies Club Champion who plays off a 1 Handicap, to the ladies on a 30+ Handicap. Tuesday is the main Ladies day at Benoni Country Club, in the Summer tee off is at 7.30am and in Winter at 11.30am. The ladies like to play a variety of formats, but Medal is played once a month. New-comers to the game are encouraged and the Ladies Coaching Clinic on a Thursday morning covers short game, course management, rules and etiquette.

Highlights during the course of the year include Club Championships in March. The Sanlam Cancer Challenge in June which is followed by the Ladies AGM. The Winter Open, which is held in the chilly month of August and the Ekurhuleni League of which the Tuesday Section first League Team are the 2017 winners.

Christmas is an opportunity to give back to the Community and ladies attending the annual Christmas Golf Day are asked to bring a gift for the less fortunate. A local children's charity in Benoni is the beneficiary.

The Lady Captain Bobby Traube and the Ladies Committee ensure the smooth running of the Ladies Golf Section and assist in the raising of much needed funds that are utilised to the benefit of the ladies section and club.

The Ladies Golf Section offers an inclusive and friendly welcome to lady golfers of all levels, from beginner to provincial players. Come and enjoy the family atmosphere, share the beauty of our course, and appreciate nature at its best.
